Nominations for You Can Do That in Fanfiction are open on AO3. You can nominate up to four fandoms and up to five characters. Nominations will close on June 11th at approximately 10pm EDT. What time is that for me? Note that your mod is not very good at keeping track of time in the evenings and this does not happen automatically but it's safe to say that it will probably close before 1am EDT the next morning.

To make this easier on your mod, remember that tv shows are canonized in AO3 as Title (TV) or Title (Cartoon) or in the case of multiple shows with the same title, Title (TV xxxx), where XXXX is the year or Title (XX TV) where XX is the country. If you're nominating a tv series that is also a book/cartoon/board game/movie/podcast/etc., I WILL assume you mean the tv version, but there will be much tearing of hair in the process, so the more specific you can be, the happier I will be. If there may be confusion, feel free to elaborate in the comments of this post.

What constitutes an eligible fandom?
The guidelines for an eligible kids' or YA tv show fandom

  • A fandom that was aired in serial format (limited or season) on a traditional broadcast network, cable network or streaming service. Direct to video releases will be considered on a case by case basis.

  • A fandom that was marketed for children's or teens at some point.

  • Any level tv shows that was made/marketed to kids are eligible, from Disney Jr./Nick Jr. to tween sitcoms. This includes shows airing in a "kids" block, on a "kids" channel, or specified in the description as being for kids.

  • TV shows that do not have a clear-cut marketing line (such as CW shows, and prime time shows from the early days of television), the following criteria will be applied: if the majority of the main characters (not the actors) are of high school age or younger for more than half the show's run and/or the show's plots focus on them as much as on the grown-ups, the show is eligible. For example, Buffy would not be eligible, because the main characters graduate high school at the end of the third season, and the show ran for seven seasons.

  • Cartoons/anime, etc. are all eligible as long as they fit the above criteria

  • Fandoms do not have to be currently airing/available on DVD or Blu-Ray/available on a streaming service to be eligible.

  • Fandoms may be in any language and do not have to have an official English translation. However, this exchange will be run in English, so the less accessible your fandom is, the less likely you will find a match.

  • Non-fiction fandoms may be accepted on a case by case basis at the discretion of the moderator.

  • RPF is not allowed except in the context of a tv show fandom in which real people are characters, such as the multitude of tv shows in which children meet famous people.

  • Size of fandom is not a criteria. My Little Pony and Hannah Montana are eligible, as are tiny fandoms that don't exist on AO3 yet.

  • Kids'/Teen spin-off series of adult series will be allowed as long as you nominate the eligible series. The adult series will be rejected. For example, Sarah Jane Adventures is eligible, but Doctor Who is not.

  • If a tv series will have started airing by the 22nd of August, it is eligible.

  • Leaked episodes/pilots or shows aired to a limited audience (such as at a convention), which have not been released to the general public by the 22nd of August are not eligible.

  • Nominations/requests/offers do not have to be things YOU personally watched at the appropriate age. As long as they are aimed at the target age range, they are eligible.

Feel free to use the comments to plan nominations, one tv show per thread. Please put the show title in the subject field for ease in coordinating.

Not my nomination.

You have the fandom "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" I think there might have been confusion as Zack and Ivy aren't characters in that show. They are characters in "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?" World is the game show. Earth is the cartoon.
